The minimum
age for Peugeot Open Europe program is only 18 years (with
one year's driving experience), and there is no maximum
age limit. The only other requirement in this regard is
that you've held your valid driving license for at least
one year.
Most European countries require only domestic licenses
for foreign drivers. However, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech
Republic, Italy, Portugal, and Spain do, by law at least,
require non-Europeans to carry an International Driving
Permit (IDP) along with their domestic license. Bulgaria
and the Czech Republic require all foreign drivers to
carry an IDP. Chances are that you will never have to
produce your IDP in the above countries, but for peace
of mind, you might consider obtaining one.
The local office of your auto club (AAA, CAA, etc.) sells
IDPs for about US$21. If you need an IDP, take your license,
two passport-sized photos and the requisite cash to the
club office. Many clubs take photos on the spot for about
$8. In just a few minutes, you'll be licensed to drive
on any European road. You may also obtain an IDP on the
Internet from IDL
International. They offer a 48-hour turnaround.
For an exciting discussion of IDPs (or IDLs, call them
what you may) go to www.groupsource.com/idlp.htm.
